DOUBLE WHAMMY WEDNESDAY

What You Need to Know to Stop Procrastination Now!

We are back for another DOUBLE WHAMMY WEDNESDAY

Abraham Lincoln once said, "Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today." And sure, that may be a great thought. But according to some studies, 1 in 4 people admit that they are chronic procrastinators. It’s easy to make excuses or create distractions for ourselves, but is beating procrastination really as simple as just doing it? Listen to The Dani Johnson Show on Wednesday, October 17th at 12 pm ET/11 am CT as Dani discusses strategies to help you stop procrastination dead in its tracks!

Today's morning subject could not have come at a better time.  On days when you ready don't feel like doing much it seems for me that those are the days when I have so much to do.  Any other time I would say I have good time management skills.  But these days I need to say I had good management skills.  What has happened to my ability to get a lot done in a short period of time?  I raised 5 kids, went through medical school and residency and started my solo practice career all without missing a beat.  I did it all one could say, and I loved every moment of it.  I would tell people when asked how was it possible, that I didn't have any other choice.  And that I believe is the key.  Not having any other choice but to get something done.  I believe one procrastinates when there is an option to do so.

What is procrastination

The Wikipedia's definition refers to procrastination as the act of replacing high-priority actions with tasks of lower priority, or doing something from which one derives enjoyment, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time.

Why do you feel you procrastinate? When did procrastination get you in trouble? If you could go back and change something what would it be?
"Procrastinate now, don't put it off." -- Ellen DeGeneres
The reason I was able to get so much done while I was raising the kids is because I had the necessary skills .   You too can obtain the skills, for skills can be learned.  What worked for me, when I seemed to be at my peak performance is listed  below and will be discussed over a series of blogs.

First,  determine what it is that causes you to put things off until later.  Some reasons people give for procrastination include fear, anxiety, or just having disbelief about a situation.

Second, set Goals.  Your goals need to included short, medium and long-term aspirations.  The goals will be what will drive you forward.

Third, make a "TO DO LIST", this was huge for me, for I wrote down everything I had to do.

Fourth, now attack the list,  prioritize the list on a daily basis.

Fifth, make a commitment to complete your task.

4 Simple Steps to Restoration

Have you lost relationships? Have you lost finances? Have you lost all hope for a bright future? Have you lost sight of your vision and dreams? No matter what has been lost, it can be restored. You can have joy and know that what lies ahead is uplifting news. You can get to where you want to be and never be the same again. Listen to this Spiritual Equipping Broadcast on today Wednesday, October 10th at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT and discover how to bring restoration and peace into your life by applying  4 simple steps.

There is a difference between hearing instructions and following instructions. If you do not follow or accept instruction you are in rebellion, and there are consequences. For instance, if you have "War on Debt", but you choose not to open up the package but do not listen to it, this is an example of being in rebellion.  The consequence is the debt you are experiencing. Rebellion is going to trap you, lead you to depression, and hopelessness. Rebellion will accept no instruction. The difference between hearing instructions and accepting instructions is action. Zephaniah 3:1-5, 9, 17

Their is hope and blessings for obedience. 1 Cor 19:13; Philip 4:13

The four steps: 1.  Repent (for your part in it)
                         2.  Forgive
                         3.  Surrender to God (return to God)
                         4.  Learn what you need to know (increase your skill)
